The Application collects your device's precise location to provide the core functionality of finding chess games nearby.
Private Device Location: Your real-time device location is used locally to display the map and calculate distances to nearby challenges. Your live device tracking is never shared with or visible to other users.
Public Challenge Location: When you create a "Challenge" (a request for a game), you select a specific location on the map (e.g., a park, cafe, or library). This specific meeting point coordinates will be visible to other users so they can find the game location.
Control: You can disable location services at any time via your device settings, though this will limit the Application's ability to show games near you.
Challenges: When you post a challenge, the details you provide (Time, Rating type, and the selected Meeting Location) become public to allow other players to accept the game.
User Profiles: Basic profile information (Username, Avatar, Rating) is visible to other users in the context of a Challenge.
Chat:The Application allows users to exchange messages with other users. Chats may be created either in the context of a challenge or independently of a challenge. Chat messages are stored securely on our servers (via Firebase).
Offline Interaction Warning: The Application is designed to facilitate real-world, offline chess games at a location chosen by users. Please be aware that the Service Provider does not screen users. We advise you to exercise caution and common sense when meeting strangers (e.g., always meet in public places like cafes or parks). The Service Provider is not responsible for user interactions offline.
For a better experience, while using the Application, the Service Provider may require you to provide us with certain personally identifiable information, including but not limited to email address, first name, last name, date of birth, username (nickname), profile photo (avatar), precise location (when enabled), device identifiers, advertising identifiers, chat messages, app activity, and usage data. The information that the Service Provider request will be retained by them and used as described in this privacy policy.
The Application may use cookies or similar technologies, such as device identifiers, local storage, and advertising identifiers, to operate and improve the Service. These technologies are used for purposes including analytics, app functionality, fraud prevention, and advertising.
Where required by law, the Application requests your consent before using such technologies. You can manage your consent preferences at any time through the in-app Privacy Settings.
Only aggregated, anonymized data is periodically transmitted to external services to aid the Service Provider in improving the Application and their service. The Service Provider may share your information with third parties in the ways that are described in this privacy statement.

You can stop all collection of information by the Application easily by uninstalling it. You may use the standard uninstall processes as may be available as part of your mobile device or via the mobile application marketplace or network.
The Service Provider will retain User Provided data for as long as you use the Application and for a reasonable time thereafter. If you wish to delete your account and all associated data (including chat history, profile information, and statistics), please contact us at takate.app@gmail.com with the subject "Account Deletion Request". We will delete your data from our active databases (Supabase/Firebase) within a reasonable timeframe (typically within 30 days).
The Application is intended for use by adults aged 18 and over.
The Service Provider does not knowingly collect, solicit, or process personal data from individuals under the age of 18. The Application is not designed for, and does not target, children.
In particular, the Service Provider does not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under the age of 13. In the event that the Service Provider becomes aware that a child under the age of 13 has provided personal information, such information will be immediately deleted from the Service Provider’s servers.

The Service Provider is concerned about safeguarding the confidentiality of your information. The Service Provider provides physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards to protect information the Service Provider processes and maintains.
